Reminded… Tyga ft. Adele

Whatever ever happened to love and being happy
Infatuated with lust, I loved you and now I’m backwards
Time is of the essence, I broke it, took it for granted
Love is like art, heartbroken on the canvas
Painted the perfect picture, you seemed to never get it

How do we move from “the place where we are right” to a place where we can connect with each other across our lines of difference? Here’s one way: (1) Stop throwing our values, beliefs and opinions at each other as if they were weapons in a war of words. (2) When we come to a place of deep division, invite people to talk about the life experience behind their beliefs to help us understand our differences. (3) Remember that the more you know about another person’s story, the less possible it is to distrust or dislike that person. (4) Value having relationships over being right, and the result will be more that’s right. (5) Mutual understanding always trumps winning a verbal food-fight: it’s the grown-up way to go! - Parker J. Palmer

Good morning.  Waking up another day absolutely grateful for my life.  There’s a ton of things I would like to get done this weekend but there is a great possibility that I will not meet my own expectation of effectiveness.  Acceptance is the key…

I read in my bible this morning on the story of Ruth.  It talks about how she found someone to redeem her family name… Boaz was her “kinsman redeemer.”  I was so curious as to what that meant and the definition of “kinsman redeemer” is “restoring the rights of another and avenging his wrongs”… kinda’ like what Jesus did for us.  Cuz believe me, I needed restoration… the kind that only He could give.  Word.

Anyway, Halloween is coming up on Monday but it’s so far on my priorities because 1) everyone in my family has been sick 2) we’re moving to Palmdale on the 1st and 3) Samuel (my youngest) doesn’t even think that dressing up and going to door to door to get candy even sounds remotely fun. hmm… wonder how that happened.

Have a great weekend.  Be blessed.  Stay grateful.
